  • alex wanted to give maggie a lap dance
  • maggie lied to alex about her coming out to protect her
  • even though we know that eliza is not an a+ mother she makes sure to send her baby girl a valentine’s card

  • the danvers sisters actually talking together about things (i know the convo probably doesn’t pass the bechdel but shh)

So what I got from the newest episode of "Watching Sanvers Scenes on Youtube".

  • Alex: Valentines Day?
  • Maggie: No.
  • Alex: Valentines DAY?
  • Maggie: Seriously nope!
  • Alex: Communication?
  • Maggie: Heternormativity really traumatised me and I might never be over it.
  • Maggie: I am revealing a tragic and very realistic backstory to you that a lot of our fans can probably identify with.
  • Maggie: It would need a lot of screentime to resolve this issue properly.
  • Maggie: But we don't get that much screentime because white cis fuckboy needs to fuck the former protagonist of this TV show.
  • Maggie: After all, this is a family TV show and we can't tell happy straight ally (TM) families that they are traumatising young queer children.
  • Maggie: So gotta go bye!
  • Some time later.
  • Kara: Yo, Maggie, it's nice that you adressed some issues so the gays can identify with you.
  • Kara: But now it's really time to quickly resolve this because after all this is a family's TV show. And if we really adressed properly that heteronormativity is hurting and traumatising young queer people, we could not really make white cis fuckboy fuck me in another scene of this tv show.
  • Kara: So pls just get your shit together! We need the gays to be happy and distracted from the bullshit we are going to pull.

  • Alex: What is going on, Maggie?
  • Maggie: VALENTINES DAY?
  • Alex: I forgot my personality at home when I put on that dress.
  • Maggie: VALENTINES DAY!

By now, I’m convinced that the Supergirl writers had to write the Karamel romance against their will, and they’re making many of the characters on this show make fun of him as a way to rebel against their evil CW overlords.

And no one has given more reasons why she shouldn’t be with Mon-El than Kara herself. In almost every single episode she comes up with a list of things that show how they are not good for each other, but every single time she ends up ignoring her own instincts by the end of the episode.

How do people find this attractive? Mon-El’s jealousy in this episode was terrible, fighting for Kara’s hand as if he has any right to actually make that decision.

“You can’t force love.”

That’s an actual quote from tonight’s episode, and I laughed so hard I started choking. How can they write something like that and then force this relationship between Kara and Mon-El? Mon-El was extremely douchey in this episode, Kara called him out on it more than once, but in the end they still kissed. What the hell?

And exactly how was all of THIS a Sanvers episode? It STILL somehow managed to revolve around Mon-El. There was more chemistry between Winn and that alien than there was between Kara and Mon-El in half a season. How is Mon-El apologizing for being a jerk in almost every single episode considered character development?

I just…I just don’t get it. How many times are they going to make Kara speak her mind and then completely erase everything she said during an ending scene with Mon-El because he smiles at her? How is this at all empowering to women?

You know how some actresses who play same sex couples or non canon same sex ships who are perfectly willing to play the characters but outside of the show they’re very like “I’m straight I’m straight I’m straight.” Or when they’re playing non canon F/F ships they’re like “Yeah they can ship us if they want but I’m pretty sure they’re just friends and will stay friends”

BUT THEN.

There are the actresses who play same sex couples and they’re always taking pictures together or joking about getting together and using the ship name or something like that. And the actresses who play non canon F/F ships are like “I would LOVE if they got together and they’re always joking and using the ship names as well and talking about the ship and joking around about getting together and things like that. I just love when the actresses do that and I’m so appreciative that even though they’re straight they’re not worried about coming off as not straight and I don’t know I’m just really appreciative because it shows how they really are okay and completely accepting of queer women.
